Ng, D., and E.A. Burgess (2004): Against The Grain: Trade in Musk Deer Products In Singapore And Malaysia. TRAFFIC Southeast Asia. 42 pps South-east Asia constitutes one of the largest markets outside China for the trade for use in traditional medicines of musk derived from musk deer. The purpose of this study was to investigate the demand for musk in Singapore and Malaysia, to document the trends in musk consumption, to identify the sources of musk and to understand their role in the international trade of musk.
