Kenya - rare monkey species threatened with extinction

A rare monkey species, the Tana River Red Colobus only found in Kenya, faces extinction due to encroachment on their habitat by human activities. The Tana River Red Colobus monkey is among 25 primates which have been included on IUCN’s list of endangered species. The Kenya Wildlife Services official has confirmed that farming, grazing and logging were the main cause of the declining population of the Tana River Red Colobus monkey. Full article >>
